At the 1st UPorto Research Summer School in Microbial Communities with the motto “Taste of PhD Experience (UPhDExperience 2024)”, students will immerse themselves in a transformative educational experience aimed at preparing them for the rigors of doctoral studies.
Participants will explore the dynamic landscape of research at the University of Porto around the microbial communities, gaining insights into state-of-the-art technologies that are available. Through engaging sessions, they will uncover the realities of the “life” of a PhD student, understanding expectations and honing essential skills tailored to prepare for it.
Additionally, the program provides a unique opportunity for students to build a network within the UPorto ecosystem, forging connections with departments and institutions. Concurrently, the summer school aligns with UPorto’s goals of increasing its visibility on a national and international scale, fostering interdepartmental collaboration, and attracting top-tier PhD talent to contribute to its academic legacy.
