The CROPEO coordinated by LEPABE-FEUP researcher and DEQ´s professor Margarida Bastos  in collaboration with ISA-UL, INIAV and FCUP was one of the 12 finalists of the 7th. edition of the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Crédito Agrícola Award aimed at innovative projects in the Agriculture, Agroindustry and Forestry sectors. It was nominated in the “Food, Nutrition and Health” category. The purpose of CROPEO is the protection of stored cereals based on the insecticide and fungicide activities of essential oils, which, when combined with a controlled release system, inhibits grain contamination.
