The e.Biofilm laboratory was officially inaugurated on 24 April, as part of the first ERA Chair led by FEUP and awarded to the research group coordinated by Nuno F. Azevedo, a lecturer at DEQ and researcher at the LEPABE – Laboratory for Process Engineering, Environment, Biotechnology and Energy, which is part of the ALiCE Associated Laboratory.
The ceremony was attended by Pedro Rodrigues (vice-rector of U.Porto), Rui Calçada (director of FEUP), Fernando Pereira (director of DEQ), as well as Nuno Azevedo (researcher in charge of the laboratory) and Darla Goeres (Centre for Biofilm Engineering at Montana State University, USA), considered a world reference in the field of biofilms.
