Twenty researchers from FEUP’s Chemical Engineering Department (DEQ) are among the world’s most cited researchers in 2022.

The data comes from the update of the list known as the “World’s Top 2% Scientists list”, a study carried out annually by researchers at Stanford University (USA) which ranks the most cited scientists in the world in their respective fields, according to SCOPUS, a renowned global database of abstracts and citations of scientific publications.

The database covers 22 areas and 174 disciplines, presenting a selection of scientists whose published research has accelerated progress in their respective fields, while also influencing the productivity of other researchers’ work.

In addition to the most cited researchers over the last year, the “World’s Top 2% Scientists list” also includes the list of scientists with the greatest impact (corresponding to the highest number of citations) over the course of their careers. In this case, eighteen DEQ researchers stand out.
