Last weekend the results of the first phase of the National Competition for Access to Higher Education 2021/2022 were announced.

Currently DEQ is responsible at FEUP for the undergraduate programs in Chemical Engineering, and participates actively on the Bioengineering and Environmental Engineering programs. In the National Access Competition for 2021/22, there were 937 candidates to these 3 programs, which means 1.4 candidates for each of the 206 positions available.

The demand satisfaction index (ratio between the number of applicants in the first option and the positions available) was greater than one for Chemical Engineering (1.03) and Bioengineering (2.05).

The admission scores of the last candidates placed in the 1st phase were: 170.8 for Chemical Engineering, 187.5 for Bioengineering and 129.5 for Environmental Engineering (0-200 scale). At a national level, it is worth noting that the Bioengineering course is in the top 10 courses (7th) with the highest admission scores, and the Chemical Engineering course is, in its area, the course with the highest admission score.
