The NEVADA project, from professor Maria do Carmo Pereira, and researchers Joana Loureiro, Maria João Ramalho, Stéphanie Andrade and Debora Nunes from LEPABE, won second place in the 9th edition of iUP25k – Ideas Competition of the University of Porto, whose final took place on 14 April, at ‘Casa Comum’ of the U.Porto.
The project presented consists in an approach that takes advantage of the benefits of a known drug for Alzheimer’s disease. This is complemented by the innovative idea of using a biocompatible device to release the drug over time.
