Xavier Malcata, full professor at the DEQ, have been selected to receive the Stephen Chang Award by the American Oil Chemists’ Society (USA). This is one of the two most prestigious awards attributed by this international society, which recognises a scientist who has made decisive accomplishments in basic research for the improvement or development of products related to lipids, through a single breakthrough or through an accumulation of publications
Therefore, professor Xavier Malcata sees his pioneering contributions to lipid biotechnology recognised and becomes the first Portuguese researcher to receive this award.
The award will be presented at the AOCS Annual Congress, which in 2022 will take place in Atlanta, USA.
