{"id":7429,"date":"2023-10-20T10:00:51","date_gmt":"2023-10-20T10:00:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/deq.fe.up.pt\/en\/?p=7429"},"modified":"2024-01-24T12:49:44","modified_gmt":"2024-01-24T12:49:44","slug":"7429-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/deq.fe.up.pt\/en\/7429-2\/","title":{"rendered":"DEQ researchers among the most cited in the world"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Nineteen researchers from FEUP&#8217;s Chemical Engineering Department (DEQ) are among the world&#8217;s most cited researchers in 2022.<\/p>\n<p>The data comes from the update of the list known as the &#8220;World&#8217;s Top 2% Scientists list&#8221;, a study carried out annually by researchers at Stanford University (USA) which ranks the most cited scientists in the world in their respective fields, according to SCOPUS, a renowned global database of abstracts and citations of scientific publications.<\/p>\n<p>The database covers 22 areas and 176 disciplines, presenting a selection of scientists whose published research has accelerated progress in their respective fields, while also influencing the productivity of other researchers&#8217; work.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to the most cited researchers over the last year, the &#8220;World&#8217;s Top 2% Scientists list&#8221; also includes the list of scientists with the greatest impact (corresponding to the highest number of citations) over the course of their careers.
